:: nnub Goes Live at Moggill

The Urban Interfaces community hub prototype, nnub, has gone live in the outer-Brisbane suburb of Moggill. The prototype consists of a large-screen kiosk in a general store and caf with an associated community portal for creating notices.

For more information about nnub, visit the nnub page at the Suburban Communities website.

:: infopoint Prototype Installed Ahead of Official Launch of the Fremantle Boat Harbour Heritage Trail

The Urban Interfaces infopoint prototype is being installed at the Fremantle Boat Harbour ahead of an official launch of the new heritage trail on 11 March.

The prototype delivers rich media content to visitors' mobile phones, providing a platform for research into mobile experiences and interactions, user-generated content and system architectures. The infopoint unit is solar-powered and sealed for protection against the coastal climate. The prototype includes a web interface for Fremantle Council to manage content and review logs. The initial content (produced by John McMullan at Murdoch University) is a dramatisation of an 1892 letter describing Fremantle as "the worst damn hole I ever saw." Click here to hear.

For more information about infopoint, visit the infopoint page at the Suburban Communities website.
